Match Report

TTA report

Even allowing for mid-week ET and Tierney going off injured (15), a poor performance. McWilliams hit the bar but Rovers went ahead with a simple goal started by a 40-yard lob over the defence (6). Poor marking led to the 2nd (37) and the 3rd came (64). McDonald scored (79). McWilliams missed his late rebounded pen.

Media report

Scott Davie, 24-Sep-1995, Scotland on Sunday

THE improbable sight of former Celtic striker Jackie Dziekanowski playing for Partick Thistle could become a reality if thc Polish international impresses during a trial at Firhill this week. Judging by the generally inept performance from the men in red and yellow at Stark's Park yesterday, that should not be a problem. Despite Rovers' presence in the UEFA Cup this season. the gulf in class between the Bundesliga and its Scottish equivalent will not deter the player, but the Thistle manager, Murdo MacLeod, knows it will take more than one player to transform his side. “That performance was unacceptable” was his succinct summation, “We actually might have snatched something from the game near the end but I am looking for new players. If things work with Jackie, it'll give me hope for the future.”
