You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

The last game of the 1990/91 season saw Thistle at Clydebank. They took the lead and went in at half-time drawing 1-1 despite having dominated the play. The second half was one of the worst capitulations of any Thistle side and a display of abject defending. Six more goals were shipped and numbers 4-7 in the last 17 minutes made Clydebank's Ken Eadie Scotland's top scorer. Chairman Jim Oliver cancelled payment of the first team squad's holiday to Majorca. The players had to pay for it themselves.
