You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

During a league match on 13/12/1980 at Love St against St Mirren (with 3 ex-JAGS in the team - Bone, Thomson and Somner) some of the lights on a floodlight pylon failed at half-time. It was behind and to the right of the goal Alan Rough was defending in the second half. The referee asked him if he was satisfied the lighting was acceptable and Roughie said it was. Eight minutes later Bone scored the only goal of the match. (PTFC programme "Flashback" 12/12/1981.)
