You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

John Marr came on as a substitute during a 1-0 defeat to Clydebank in the League Cup quarter final at Kilbowie on 24/9/1975. It was an easy shift. The "Evening Times" and the "Glasgow Herald" reported that as he ran on to the pitch the referee blew for time. Not having touched the ball, all he had to do was shake hands with the Clydebank players and congratulate them on a fine win on the night (but not on aggregate).
