Eighteen games into season 1961/62 Thistle had had 6 different team captains. The "Evening Times" 16/12/1961 outlined the sequence:- Alex Wright, John Harvey, Frank Donlevy, Joe Hogan, George Smith and Davie McParland (latest). Manager Thornton explained the changes were due to "circumstances" such as injury and loss of form. Donlevy was transferred to St Johnstone in the November.
