“New winger at Firhill” reported the "Evening Times" on 28/12/1957. No, not a new signing. Two Police Officers carried a rather dirty looking swan off the pitch and into the pavilion before Thistle's match with East Fife. Clearly the swan had come over from the canal basin to see for itself a Thistle team with 3 consecutive league wins (and heading for a fourth - Thistle won 5-1)!
