You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

A quiet day in Fife. Raith Rovers fans must have thought the gods were against them on 8/10/1949 at Starks Park. First their right-half collided with their right-back in the first few minutes and broke his ankle. The full-back played on with concussion but collapsed a minute from the end. Their centre-forward broke his nose just before half-time but a second collision after half-time corrected it! All three were taken to hospital after the game. Unsurprisingly Thistle won 3-1.
