During a Glasgow Charity Cup match against Third Lanark on 15/5/1943 the referee, Mr Cox, had to leave the field at one stage but he wasn't injured or ill. After receiving several passes from Third Lanark players (playing in white shirts) he decided it might be a good idea to change out of his white jacket! ("Sunday Post" 16/5/1943.)
