27,000 people saw Thistle beat Queen's Park 2-0 on 13/8/1927. The game also marked the opening of Thistle's new stand. They also saw an Alsatian dog interrupt the match 4 times. It chased after the ball and had to be caught each time. Every time a policeman took it out through one exit, it came back in through another. ("Hartlepool Northern Daily Echo" 15/8/1927.)
