On 29/11/1924 Thistle won 2-1 against Celtic at Celtic Park. It seems it may have been too much for "The Nottingham and Midland Catholic News". Their 6/12/1924 comment on the match ran… "Celtic down again. What's gone wrong with the green and whites? Again they have been beaten after having as much or more of the game as their opponents. Fancy being licked at Celtic Park by Partick Thistle. Thistle never do." Indeed! [Nice use of a pun at the end.]
