John Bowie made 202 appearances for Thistle between 1915 and 1922. On 21/12/1921 the "Dundee Courier" reported that he was injured. Nothing particularly unusual with that except he had suffered head and facial injuries in a fall in Govan Cross subway station. He was taken to the Western Infirmary where he was described as "not too well".
