You Couldn't Make It Up!

by Jack Little

In addition to the normal gate takings and 2 points for a 2-1 win against Morton on 10/10/1903, Thistle received £45 compensation from Third Lanark because they (Thirds) had had to concede home advantage and play Rangers at Ibrox which was deemed close enough to impact on the Meadowside attendance.  23,000 saw their game paying £679 so they could well afford it.   Thistle's taking were £99 + the "bonus".
