You Couldn't Make It Up!

Athletic News reported on 28/8/1899 that goalkeeper Tom Scott, "their old international custodian", had signed for Irish amateur club Cliftonville (having been with the club before). In doing so they added "whose brief experience of professional life in Glasgow last season with Partick Thistle was enough". What could they have meant?! He made 5 appearances in his brief spell with Thistle who used 7 different keepers in 1898/99.
