 William Hill was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The defender signed for Thistle on Saturday, 13th August, 1898, having most recently been with Cameronians. He made his first known appearance on Wednesday, 17th August, 1898, in a 4-0 friendly defeat at home to Celtic. There were no known goals for William during his spell with Thistle. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 4th March, 1899, in a 1-1 friendly draw away to Celtic XI, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 6 occasions. His club-list included Cameronians, Partick Thistle and Clyde. We don't know where or when William died. *
