He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 10th October, 1903, in a 2-1 win at home to Morton in the SFL First Division. William scored his only goal for Thistle on Saturday, 12th December, 1903, in a 1-0 friendly win away to East Stirlingshire. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 16th April, 1904, in a 1-0 friendly win at home to Leith Athletic, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. His club-list included Cleland Rangers, Partick Thistle and Alloa Athletic. We don't know where or when William died. *
