• William Fraser, 1926 (HA) William Fraser was born in Glasgow, although we've been unable to establish a date as of yet. * The 5' 8½ (11st 0lbs) forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Tuesday, 1st June, 1926, having most recently been with Ashfield. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 14th August, 1926, in a 1-1 draw away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. William scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 28th August, 1926, in a 2-1 defeat away to Rangers in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 22 goals on Saturday, 24th January, 1931, in a 2-0 win away to East Fife in the SFL First Division. That turned out to be his last game for Thistle, having appeared as a Jag on 73 occasions. His club-list included Ashfield and Partick Thistle. 1926 - STIRLING CHARITY CUP Tue-17-Aug-1926 [a] L0-1 King's Park (Stirling Charity Cup Final) Thistle had the edge for the first 15 minutes but found the home defence a tough proposition. KP got into the game and hit the post. A clearance off the line denied Thistle the opener just on h-t. A drive (67) won the cup. Gibbs got his fingers to the shot but couldn't keep it out. 1927 - GLASGOW CHARITY CUP Sat-14-May-1927 [n] W6-3* Rangers (Glasgow Charity Cup Final) * after extra-time (3-3, 90 mins) Hampden. Goals by Grove (18) and Hair (23) gave Thistle a 2-goal lead against a much weakened Rangers team but they rallied and led 3-2 at h-t. It was all Thistle after that and Hair equalised (65). 3 more goals by Hair in extra time gave Thistle a fine win giving Hair 49 goals for the season. George Easton

1928 - GLASGOW DENTAL CUP Tue-11-Dec-1928 [n] W2-0 Rangers (Glasgow Dental Cup Final) Hampden. The best of the 5-game tournament. Ness headed in a Torbet pass (8). Thistle had the best of it and Torbet scored with a pen (42). Rangers pressed but their forwards failed to gel and Thistle ran out “worthy winners” (GH). A cup to keep!
