William Ferguson |
William Ferguson was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Thursday, 12th January, 1905, having most recently been with Kilmarnock. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 14th January, 1905, in a 6-1 defeat away to Port Glasgow Athletic in the SFL First Division. That day, William became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Monday, 8th May, 1905, in a 3-0 win at home to Celtic in a Benefit match. He played his last game for Thistle on Thursday, 11th May, 1905, in a 0-0 draw away to Clyde in a Benefit match, having appeared as a Jag on 6 occasions. His club-list included Kilmarnock, Lanemark, Nithsdale Wanderers, Maxwelltown Volunteers, Partick Thistle and Thornhill. We don't know where or when William died. *
