We'd walk a million miles

Those of you who get the feeling that we seem to do a lot of travelling to watch the Jags these days would be right, as can be seen by the table below, which looks at the distances travelled season-by-season, by the theoretically ever-present Thistle fan based in Glasgow city centre. The historical average for the category is to make round-trips totaling 1,371 miles per season, or 80.8 miles per game but, as you can see, we've been way beyond that in recent seasons. The table data was calculated on the following basis:
  • Limited to our League Max category.
  • Designated away fixtures only.
  • Uses distancecalculator.net on a town centre to town centre basis, expressed in miles for a car journey.
  • The individual distances to each ground are listed in the second tab below.
  • All games played in Glasgow were uniformly set to a 6 mile round-trip by default.
