 Anthony Higgins was born on Thursday, 3rd June, 1954, in Glasgow. The 6' 1 (12st 6lbs) midfielder signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Saturday, 15th March, 1980, having most recently been with Hibernian. Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 15th March, 1980, in a 0-0 draw away to Rangers in the SFL Premier Division. Tony scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 26th July, 1980, in a 5-1 friendly win away to Forres Mechanics. He scored the last of his 17 goals on Saturday, 27th February, 1982, in a 3-1 defeat away to Airdrieonians in the SFL Premier Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 1st May, 1982, in a 0-0 draw at home to Airdrieonians in the SFL Premier Division, having appeared as a Jag on 78 occasions. Tony's club-list included Hibernian, Partick Thistle, Morton and Stranraer. |
