Thomas John Kelly was born on Saturday, 28th March, 1964, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 5' 8½ (10st 10lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle circa Monday, 10th December, 1979, having most recently been with Gartcosh Youth Club. Aged 19, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 27th July, 1983, in a 4-0 friendly win away to Linlithgow Rose. There were no goals for Tom during his spell with Thistle. He played his second and last game for the club on Tuesday, 2nd August, 1983, in a 3-2 friendly defeat away to Stirling Albion. Tom's club-list included Partick Thistle, Hibernian, Queen of the South, Hartlepool United, Torquay United, York City, Exeter City, Weymouth, Teignmouth, Ilfracombe Town, Taunton Town, Bideford, Bridgewater Town, Stoke Gabriel and Bovey Tracey. |
