Bio Extra

Whoever this player was, his performance was praised in the middle of May 1882 - alongside early Thistle notaries Jack Beattie, George Leckie & Jerry Suter - in his only known game, a 3-2 win over burgh rivals, Partick, at their Inchview home. The 7th season was drawing to a close, but another two games being arranged against Partick suggested that both clubs were looking to end their campaigns with a grand challenge. Thistle had come a long way in a very short time since losing 5-1 at Partick's Inchview home in September 1880. This was the third derby of 1882 already and there would be another in 10 days time. All were won by Thistle, just as they would be until Partick's demise in 1885. We're not too sure as to Taylor's position, but we'll guess that he had a forward's role since Thistle won and he was being praised.
