![]() Stephen William Maskrey was born on Thursday, 16th August, 1962, in Edinburgh. The 5' 7½ (9st 10lbs) forward signed for Murdo MacLeod's Thistle on Friday, 2nd August, 1996, having most recently been with Kilmarnock. Aged 33, he made his debut appearance on Friday, 2nd August, 1996, in a 1-1 friendly draw at home to Preston North End. Steve scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 10th August, 1996, in a 3-1 win (aet) at home to Queen's Park in the Challenge Cup. He scored the last of his 3 goals on Saturday, 1st February, 1997, in a 3-1 win at home to East Fife in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 10th May, 1997, in a 2-0 defeat away to St Mirren in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 38 occasions. Steve's club-list included Falkirk, East Stirlingshire, Stenhousemuir, Queen of the South, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle, Livingston and Cowdenbeath. |
