Stanley Sutherland was born on Friday, 12th January, 1906, in Earlston, Berwickshire.

The 5' 9 (11st 0lbs) defender signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Saturday, 1st June, 1929, having most recently been with Grange Rovers.

Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 1st February, 1930, in a 3-0 win away to Dundee United in the Scottish Cup.

There were no goals for Stanley during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 3rd January, 1931, in a 3-1 defeat away to Morton in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 6 occasions.

His club-list included Grange Rovers, Partick Thistle and Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic.

Stanley died on Saturday, 24th January, 1959, in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, aged 53.
