Bio Extra

We can't be certain it was the same guy, but we think this full back possibly tried twice for Thistle; in the spring of 1896 when he was a Glasgow Perthshire player and then again in February 1898 whilst he was at Benburb. Of his re-debut the Referee reported that Thistle fancied he could yet make a first-class back and that, though a trifle slow against Clyde, he gave promise that more experience and training would develop his ability. The stigma of losing 5 seems to hindered him though; never again was he seen in the first team.
