Bio Extra

This striker (not to be confused with a Thistle youth player of the same name from several years earlier - see historian's note) was part of Ian Cameron's under 19 side which won the SFL League Cup in May 2010, defeating League champions Livingston 3-2 in the final. In early 2011, the 17-year-old did well to come off the bench and tee-up Kris Doolan to net the equaliser in a Scottish Cup clash at Falkirk, before netting his first senior goal in the 6-1 rout of Stirling and scoring in a 3-1 win Queen of the South. The 17-year-old racked up 17 appearances before the end of that term, all coming from the bench with limited game time. In the close season of 2011 he showed up well in a high profile 2-1 win over Celtic at Firhill, although there were comments made that he was "carrying a bit of timber". Within a few weeks, he joined Stenhousemuir on a 4-month loan deal. In August 2012, halfway through his 2-year-deal at Thistle, discussions with new manager Jackie McNamara led to Shaun's departure. He had hoped to get fixed up elsewhere, but ended up taking a break from the game, seemingly disillusioned. Shaun returned for one last hurrah with Maryhill in 2015-16.
