Sean Patrick McArdle was born on Monday, 27th August, 2007, in Mauchline, East Ayrshire. The midfielder temporarily transferred to Mark Wilson's Thistle on Wednesday, 1st October, 2025, from his parent club, Celtic. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 4th October, 2025, in a 1-1 draw at home to Arbroath in the SPFL Championship. There were no goals for Sean during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th November, 2025, in a 2-0 win away to Forfar Athletic in the Scottish Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 6 occasions. At January, 2026, his club-list included Celtic and Partick Thistle. |

![]() The teenager was a regular fixture for Celtic B in the Lowland League since signing his first professional contract with the Hoops as a 16-year-old in 2023, helping them to a 2nd-place finish in 2024-25. The youngster made his senior Celtic debut in May 2025 when he came off the bench in a 3-1 home win over Hibernian; he would go on to feature as a substitute again four days later in a victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie. He then started 2025-26 by appearing in 10 league games for Celtic B, scoring twice in four games against SPFL opposition in the Challenge Cup, finding the net against Clyde and Alloa Athletic. Following this good form, Thistle manager Mark Wilson brought him to Firhill at the beginning of October 2025, signing Sean up to a season-long loan deal. He said:
The youngster registered 94 minutes in 6 appearances as a Jag, all from the bench. On 2nd January 2026 it was stated that he had been recalled by his parent club, Celtic. |
