Bio Extra

Young forward whose name keeps popping up as a scorer with the Thistle youth teams. Sallu had a trial spell down at Watford in 2022 and was unlucky in that it was cut short just 2 days in as he pulled a hamstring! Despite this, a pro contract was offered but, in the end, the youngster opted to continue his development at Thistle. He got the call to join Kris Doolan's Thistle for some first team experience in the summer of 2023. Wearing the #15 shirt, Sallu (along with his Academy mates Ché Campbell and Jamie Taggart) got the nod to come off the bench for the final half hour of a 2-1 pre-season friendly win at Kelty Hearts, replacing debutant Scott Robinson. He played through the pain barrier that night as he was recovering from a broken hand and fingers, but nothing was going to stop him answering the call. Signed a two year modern apprenticeship deal with the club in July 2023. A good prospect, and full of potential.

On 11th August 2023, it was announced that Sallu, along with team-mate Jamie Taggart, would be joining West of Scotland Premier League side Gartcairn on a season-long loan deal. Thistle manager Kris Doolan said: “I’ve always thought that it’s important for young players to be playing football and going out to Gartcairn will give Jamie and Sallu that opportunity. We’ve had them in with the first team over the summer and I’ve been impressed with a lot of what they’ve done but now it’s a slightly different challenge as they head to a competitive environment when there’s more pressure on them each week.” Made his debut for 'the Cairn' the following day at Cumnock!

In July 2024, the 17-year-old Sallu appeared in Thistle's pre-season friendly at Glenafton and was on the bench for three of the League Cup games. The following month it was announced that he'd be joining 6th tier Benburb of the West of Scotland Premier Division on a season-long loan deal. He made his debut for Paul Lovering’s side on 14th August 2024 as they lost 2-0 to Shotts Bon Accord at New Tinto Park.
