Bio Extra

There was great excitement for the 16-year-old Ruaridh when Alan Archibald listed him as a first-team sub for the pre-season trip to Cowdenbeath to face Hearts in July 2018. Tam O'Ware made his Thistle debut that day, and Ruaridh had to be content with taking in the experience from the bench. The Thistle Weir Youth Academy graduate played a big role in the Reserve League campaign of 2018-19 and, although he was training with the first team squad during the 2019 pre-season, he never did get his chance on any given match day. He was loaned out to Cumnock Juniors in July 2019, where he played regularly for the Ayrshire outfit in the SJFA West Region Premiership, his initial 6 month deal being extended to two full seasons in the end. In the summer of 2022 he signed for the ambitious Drumchapel United of the West of Scotland League First Division.
