He made his only known appearance on Saturday, 24th April, 1897, in a 4-3 win away to Morton in the SFL Second Division.

1897 - SFL SECOND DIVISION

Sat-17-Apr-1897 [h] W2-0 Kilmarnock (SFL Second Division - game 17)

Despite almost constant pressure Thistle had only one goal to show for their efforts by h-t. The 2nd half was just as close but a second goal eased the nerves and secured the championship but promotion to the first division was only confirmed by committee on 1 June. Lamont and Currie got the goals.
