Robert Caffrey was born on Friday, 28th July, 1893, in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham.

The defender signed for George Easton's Thistle on Tuesday, 9th June, 1914, having most recently been with Larkhall Thistle.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 24th August, 1914, in a 2-2 draw at home to Celtic in a Benefit match.

There were no goals for Robert during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 19th April, 1916, in a 4-0 win at home to St Mirren in the Scottish Football League, having appeared as a Jag on 26 occasions.

His club-list included Larkhall Thistle, Partick Thistle, Bo'ness, Motherwell and Dykehead.

Robert died on Thursday, 1st July, 1965 in Heywood, Greater Manchester, aged 71.
