Richard Alexander Waddell was born on Wednesday, 4th February, 1981, in Falkirk.

The 5' 9½ (11st 7lbs) midfielder signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Friday, 21st June, 2002, having most recently been with Falkirk.

Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Thursday, 18th July, 2002, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Bangor.
