Richard Charles Gillies was born on Tuesday, 24th August, 1976, in Glasgow.

The 5' 10 (12st 2lbs) forward signed for Dick Campbell's Thistle on Thursday, 2nd June, 2005, having most recently been with St Mirren.

Aged 28, he made his debut appearance on Tuesday, 12th July, 2005, in a 3-2 friendly defeat away to Buckie Thistle.
