notes
  • Table includes all League Max games which were designated home fixtures for Partick Thistle; 132 consecutive seasons from 1891-92 to 2023-24.
  • To enable the easy viewing of record tallies, Pts (points) colums in these tables are shown as originally accrued i.e. 2 pts per win up until season 1993-94 and then 3 pts per win from 1994-95 onwards. For reasons of fair comparison between eras, the Pts pg (points-per-game) columns are calculated on the modern-day 3 pts-per-win formula for ALL seasons.
  • Between seasons 1891-92 and 1920-21 teams who finished level on points were deemed to be of equal placing, excepting instances where a play-off was introduced by necessity. Between seasons 1921-22 and 1969-70, teams who finished level on points were separated by highest goal average, i.e. goals scored divided by goals conceded. Goal difference as we know it today (goals scored minus goals conceded) was introduced from season 1970-71 onwards. In our tables, the artificial addition of goal-difference for ALL seasons is for illustrative purposes only.
  • The penalty-kick and card data cannot be viewed as definitive due to the reliance on newspaper reports, although we have made an exhaustive attempt to capture all of the penalty kicks and sending offs from the 1890s to date. We introduce the yellow card count from season 1997-98 onwards as our records are comprehensive and meaningful from that season onwards.
