Prince Christian Buaben Abankwah was born on Saturday, 23rd April, 1988, in Akosombo, Eastern Region.

The 5' 11 (12st 11lbs) midfielder signed for Alan Archibald's Thistle on Friday, 31st January, 2014, having most recently been with Carlisle United.

Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 1st February, 2014, in a 1-1 draw at home to Dundee United in the SPFL Premiership.

There were no goals for Prince during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Friday, 25th April, 2014, in a 1-1 draw at home to St Mirren in the SPFL Premiership, having appeared as a Jag on 11 occasions.

Prince's club-list included Dundee United, Watford, Carlisle United, Partick Thistle, Heart of Midlothian, Falkirk and Pandurii Târgu Jiu.

Prince, a defensive midfielder, played as a youth for A.V.V. Zeeburgia and was a product of the Ajax youth system. Although signed as a future prospect by United by manager Craig Levein, Prince went on to play a major role in the first team almost as soon as he had arrived. He collected a runners-up medal in the League Cup final in March 2008 and then won a Scottish Cup winners medal in 2010. He was also awarded his only Ghana international cap whilst at United. After four successful years at Tannadice he left when his contract expired in May 2011 and then signed for Watford and later Carlisle United. He returned to Scotland in 2014, playing for Partick Thistle on loan prior to joining Hearts. Buaben helped Hearts win promotion in 2015, during his four years with the club. He signed a short term deal with Falkirk in October 2018 before re-surfacing in Romania with Pandurii in 2020, where he was involved for one season.
