Player of the month awards |

The excellent McCrea Player-of-the-Month awards were in place for seven successive seasons, from 2012-13 onwards.
Every month, the Thistle manager and assistant manager nominated a short-list of first team players who, in their view, deserved to be considered for player-of-the-month award.
The final decision was then left to the biggest critics - the fans - who voted via the club's website or Twitter platform.
It'd be fair to say, this award was never lightly earned!
As Alan Archibald explained, the award meant a lot to the players:
Football is a squad game and if we didn’t play as a team then we wouldn’t have found the success we have done in recent seasons. Having said that, individual performances are often what win football matches and it is fantastic to recognise those with awards like this. The fact that the award is voted for by the fans makes it even more special for the players who win it. I know it means a huge amount to them when they do. The monthly award is always popular no matter which club you go to. It gets competitive every month which drives all of the boys on – competition is always a good thing in football.
