Peter Thompson was born on Monday, 23rd April, 1877, in Rothesay, Argyll and Bute.

The goalkeeper signed for Thistle in August, 1898, having most recently been with Bute Rangers.

Aged 21, he made his first known appearance on Monday, 15th August, 1898, in an 8-0 friendly defeat away to Linthouse.

There were no known clean-sheets for Peter during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 20th August, 1898, in a 6-2 defeat away to Rangers in the SFL First Division, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 3 occasions.

His club-list included Bute Rangers, Partick Thistle and Chesterfield Town.
