Peter Shields was born on Sunday, 14th August, 1960, in Ballieston, Glasgow. The 5' 8 (10st 9lbs) defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Thursday, 18th September, 1980, having most recently been with Heart of Midlothian. Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 28th July, 1984, in a 2-0 friendly defeat away to Queen's Park. There were no goals for Peter during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 20th February, 1985, in a 1-0 defeat at home to Clydebank in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 23 occasions. Peter's club-list included Ipswich Town, Heart of Midlothian, Partick Thistle, Cowdenbeath and Cumnock Juniors. |
