Paul John Maher was born on Saturday, 12th September, 1964, in Glasgow.

The 6' 0 (11st 8lbs) defender signed for Billy Lamont's Thistle circa Saturday, 26th March, 1988, having most recently been with Baillieston Juniors.

Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 26th March, 1988, in a 1-0 win at home to Clyde in the SFL First Division.

There were no goals for Paul during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 12th November, 1988, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Forfar Athletic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 4 occasions.

Paul's club-list included Baillieston Juniors, Partick Thistle, Pollok, Petershill and Kilbirnie Ladeside.

Bio Extra

Young centre-half signed from Baillieston in 1988. He dominated in the air, but was poor on the ground. Regularly turned out for the reserves, but he never managed the same for the first team. Left and joined Pollok, before moving on to Petershill.
