He kept his second and last clean-sheet on Saturday, 14th December, 1985, in a 1-0 win at home to East Fife in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 2nd April, 1986, in a 2-2 draw away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 17 occasions. Nelson's club-list included Arcadia Shepherds, Rangers FC, Wits University, Arsenal, Partick Thistle, Falkirk, Western Tigers and Dynamos. |
Signed as competition to Brough, both keepers alternated in the first team. Nelson made a terrible blunder at Cappielow, missing completely his headed clearance outside the penalty are and having to watch as the ball rolled into the net. He played in only a few matches after that game and left Thistle to join Falkirk. |
