Myles Roberts |
Myles Roberts was born on Sunday, 9th December, 2001, in Reading, Berkshire. The 6' 4 (12st 13lbs) goalkeeper temporarily transferred to Kris Doolan's Thistle on Monday, 29th July, 2024, from his parent club, Watford. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 3rd August, 2024, in a 0-0 draw at home to Greenock Morton in the SPFL Championship. That day, he became a member of the goalies' clean-sheet debutant's club. Myles's club-list includes Reading, Wealdstone, Tonbridge Angels, Hornchurch, Bognor Regis Town, Watford, Wingate & Finchley, Concord Rangers, Welling United and Partick Thistle. He's contracted at Firhill until May, 2025. |
This young keeper joined the Reading Academy as a 10-year-old and worked his way up. In November 2018, the 16-year-old Myles made his debut for Reading at U-23 level and did very well indeed keeping a clean-sheet in an important 3-0 cup win away to Bracknell Town. Whilst at Reading he had short loan spells with Wealdstone, Tonbridge Angels, AFC Hornchurch and Bognor Regis Town before making the switch to Watford in January 2020, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal. From there, he had a spell out on loan with Wingate & Finchley of the Isthmian Premier League before spending the second half of that season with National League South side Concord Rangers. The keeper stayed in the National League South during 2022/23 and became regular first choice at Welling United, where he went on to claim the Manager’s Player of the Year award. He then returned to Watford in April 2023 and featured on the bench for the Sky Bet Championship clash away at Coventry City. Signing a season-long loan-deal with Partick Thistle in the summer of 2024, manager Kris Doolan spoke to the club website:
