Michael McMullin |
Michael McMullin was born on Monday, 10th February, 1997, in Glasgow. The 5' 10 (11st 7lbs) defender signed for Alan Archibald's Thistle on Wednesday, 21st May, 2014, having most recently been with Partick Thistle U-17. Aged 19, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 29th June, 2016, in a 6-0 friendly win away to Cirencester Town. There were no goals for Michael during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 9th July, 2016, in a 2-1 friendly win away to Greenock Morton, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. At July, 2024, Michael's club-list included Partick Thistle, East Stirlingshire, Peterhead, Albion Rovers, Pollok, Bo'ness United, Ytterhogdals, Clyde, Petershill, Drumchapel United, Benburb, Glenafton Athletic and Arthurlie. |
Michael was another of the successful Weir Academy graduates who was promoted to a full time apprentice in May 2014. Michael, who can can play in several roles in defensive positions, made the left back slot his own in the second half of the 2013/14 season as he began his rise into the Under 20s. He continued that form at the beginning of the 2014/15 season adding an attacking threat to his game, scoring in league games against both Kilmarnock and Aberdeen. A couple of nasty looking injuries in early 2015 curtailed his progress a little, but Michael worked hard to get back into full fitness whilst trying to recapture the form he showed earlier in the season. Michael went on to make a central defensive slot his own in the Development League, forging a tremendous partnership with Scot Whiteside. The left sided defender has also added a ruthless touch in front of goal, and matched his 2014/15 goal haul by mid-November. Left-sided player Michael signed for Pollok in August 2018 after a couple of appearances as a trialist. He was a product of the Partick Thistle youth system and spent three seasons full-time with the Firhill side. He spent time loaned out to East Stirlingshire in League Two and League One side Peterhead before transferring to Albion Rovers for 2017-18 where he was a regular in their matchday squad, but most of their squad moved on at the end of the season following a relegation and change of manager. For Lok, he has featured in the heart of defence, at left back and in left midfield. He joined Bo’ness United in November 2018 as part of a deal that took Josh Watt to Newlandsfield. |
