It was satisfying for Thistle to score four in each half with two different line-ups in a comfortable win. Continuing 25/26 form, Watt/Fitzpatrick had 4 goals/assists in the first half whilst the second half bore a debut brace for Drozd and first club goals for youngsters Gray and Low.

Debutant SEB DROZD really stood out as a class apart, comfortable with both feet and he showed a good mix of strength and composure to convert his two goals within just 10 minutes of being introduced to the action.

06’ O'Reilly's header from the Mackay-Steven corner drops just wide of the post. 09’ Reading's header from a Logan cross rattles the post as Thistle come close to opening the scoring. 10’ Lets'osa's shot following a Logan cut back is straight at Burgess in the Kilbirnie goal. 12’ Mackay-Steven brings down a delightful chipped pass from Fitzpatrick but drags his effort wide of goal. 14’ Goal Thistle! Watt clips the ball over to Reading at the back post and he crisply volleys home. 17’ Reading lays the ball back to Fitzpatrick who sees his low effort roll wide of the post. 19’ Burgess saves with his legs to keep out a Mackay-Steven effort. 26’ Goal Thistle! It's a second for Thistle. Watt plays the ball through for Fitzpatrick who deftly lifts the ball over Burgess and into the net. 29’ Goal Thistle! Fitzpatrick plays in Reading down the left and his cross is touched home by Lets'osa. 33’ A rare break forward for Kilbirnie but Gallagher sees his shot go high over the crossbar. 35’ Goal Thistle! O'Reilly is on the end of a Mackay-Steven corner and he heads powerfully home. 45’ Half-Time, Thistle comfortably in front at the break.

Drozd is able to evade a couple of challenges before finding space to find the bottom corner of the net. 69’ The Kilbrinie trialist misses a good chance at the back post heading a Nartey cross over the bar. 70’ Goal Thistle! Two in three minutes for Drozd who confidently lifts the ball beyond an advancing Burgess. 72’ Henderson tries to get among the goals but sees his effort fly over the bar. 81’ Horn's header from a Gray cross is over the bar. 82’ Goal Thistle! Gray is at the back post to crash a shot high into the back of the net. 85’ Goal Thistle! It's eight for Thistle as Low fires a low shot into the back of the net. 90’ Full Time. Much like Saturday a worthwhile exercise, especially on the bigger pitch at Petershill. We got Hendo and Seb involved as well and GMS was back looking sharp so really pleased. We tried something a wee bit different in the first half, something that we're looking at, and I thought it looked ok, and that's what these games are all about. I think everybody understands their shapes and patterns within the team but it's our job as coaches to find different solutions to different problems and there's no doubt about it, last season we came up against some opposition that were tough to break down. We do it in training amongst ourselves but it's only when it's against different opposition when it'll really tell you the story. I know we'll be up against tougher opposition going forward but it was good for the players to get in their rhythm and try out some of those patterns.
