Diack headed in Fitzpatrick's corner (7) and his cross was knocked in off a defender for an og with Diack in attendance (37). The 2nd half belonged to Airdrie. Thistle's play deteriorated, Airdrie's improved. A cushion header knock-down was fired home (54) and, while not quite "hanging on", a sitter in added time went wide leaving Airdrie perhaps unlucky not to take a point.

LEWIS NEILSON showed both sides of his game to great effect, almost reflecting the team itself, the confident stride and range of passing of the opening half, giving way to the strength and dig in the second. He's become an essential presence.

Ricco Diack's first senior goal on his first senior start helped Partick Thistle take a valuable three points against Airdrieonians. The 18 year-old met Aidan Fitzpatrick's early corner to head home for the Jags. Kris Doolan's side doubled their lead when a dangerous Fitzpatrick's cross hit the knee of defender Callum Fordyce and looped in at the back post. The Diamonds replied when Craig Watson got on the end of Calum Gallagher's knockdown to poke high into the net. Thistle remain five points off second-placed Raith Rovers while Airdrie are still a point off Dunfermline, who are fourth.

I'm proud of Ricco, because it's not an easy thing for a young boy to come in, especially in the Championship where there's expectation. His overall performance was very good. You see the physicality of him. He's quick, he's powerful, he's got a good touch, he can clearly score goals and, as a striker, that could be the full package.
