Graham scored from 7 yards after McInroy's shot was spilled by the keeper (17) but poor defending at a corner saw the ball trundled in for 1-1 (19). Milne's tap-in (47) signalled improvements and Thistle looked the more likely until a soft penalty (75). Alston hit the post and off-side ruled out an Ayr "goal" late on. A fair result but poor fare all round.

Jamie Murphy scored a brace as Ayr United twice came from behind to snatch a point away to Partick Thistle. The former Rangers winger got on the end of a Logan Chalmers cross just two minutes after Brian Graham had tapped home from close range. Kris Doolan's side would hit the front early in the second period when Harry Milne was left unmarked at a corner. But Ayr were level again when Fraser Bryden was brought down in the box and Murphy converted from the spot. Ayr thought they had won it at the death, but the linesman's flag was raised to deny Bryden's finish, meaning the sides are separated by three points, with Thistle in third and United in fourth.

Partick Thistle manager Kris Doolan (speaking to Jagzone):

When you see the penalty back you see the foul on Aaron first and I can't understand how that goes un-noticed when you're so close, but the ref says there wasn't enough force to give the foul against Aaron. I felt as it the two goals we gave away were poor, and they were the only two lifts that Ayr United got. The first goal annoys me more than the penalty lick because it's a throw-in that we just don't pick up well enough, or quick enough. At 2-1, I felt as though we were the team that was going to score again, I felt we had good energy, felt that Kerr McInroy was taking a grip of the game from midfield. We probably stole a point at Queen's Park and unfortunately Ayr United have came here and stole a point.
