Thistle had the better of the first half but only went close twice through Milne and Docherty. The second half saw a role reversal and bottom club Arbroath had the lion's share of the play. They hit woodwork twice and had Thistle on the back foot for most of the time. A clean sheet and a point but nothing much to enthuse over.

Arbroath and Partick Thistle fought out a goalless Scottish Championship draw at Gayfield. The visitors had the better of the first half, but other than a long-range effort from Ross Docherty, there was little to trouble Derek Gaston. Arbroath improved and Jaio Balde twice hit the woodwork for the hosts as Dick Campbell's side tried to ease their relegation woes. The hosts remain bottom of the table but move within a point of Hamilton. Managerless Thistle stay fifth. Visiting goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon almost gifted the home side all three points late on when he allowed the ball to go through his legs, but the ball drifted just wide.

A good point. For me, it's been a tough point to get. We knew what it was going to be like up here. It's two completely different halves of football. I thought the boys defended well and we knew we had to defend well. Brownlie came in today, and I thought he was fantastic the way he marshaled the back four along with Muirhead as well. First half we caused problems and controlled a lot of the game. In the second half it was as expected, Arbroath go for it, but we didn't sit back to accept the draw, we put players on the pitch to win the game. We kept another clean-sheet and the boys can take some positives from that.
