In howling wind and driving rain, not one to live long in the memory. Rudden's shot (3) was Thistle's best chance. The teams swopped spells on top in an evenly matched game, full of effort but little else. They managed 6 attempts on target between them. Morton's best chance to score came late on but Bannigan cleared off the line.

Partick Thistle missed the chance to climb into the Scottish Championship’s play-off places after being held to a goalless draw at Morton. Striker Zak Rudden saw an early effort saved, but clear-cut chances were few and far between until Morton midfielder Jaakko Oksanen’s header was tipped over.

Both sides’ defences remained on top throughout the second half. Morton’s Cameron Blues fired just off target and home goalkeeper Jack Hamilton kept out Brian Graham’s effort at full stretch. Partick Thistle’s Ross MacIver and Kevin Holt went close to snatching all three points in the closing stages, but both were denied by Hamilton.

It was another game where we didn’t do enough to deserve to win which is disappointing. Like Saturday, we lacked a spark going forward and couldn’t create chances despite getting into some good positions. We were finding space in the wide areas but couldn’t get the crosses right and a point was all either team deserved in the end. The back four did well again; we’re very happy with how they’re doing at the moment. Again Tunji and Mayo looked solid and they had to do a lot of the dirty side of the game tonight. Everyone gave their all and they were throwing their bodies in for blocks so we can’t fault their commitment, we were just disappointed with the lack of attacking intent. It’s another really big game [on Saturday] and we’ll need to be better than we have been over these past two games. We know we’re capable of better though so we have to go into Saturday with belief. The league has really tightened up recently so we have to look at this game as a chance to get a big three points to move closer to the teams at the top of the league.
