Kane Hemmings' brace brought Dundee their first Scottish Championship win in five attempts and heaped more misery on Partick Thistle. The striker took his tally for the season to nine to lift his side to fourth in the Championship. His first was a touch to Jordon Forster's goal-bound header and his second a low shot into the far corner. Thistle struggled to create any clear-cut chances and remain two points adrift at the bottom. Dundee's day was only darkened by a serious injury to midfielder Ross Callachan, who was stretchered off with a fractured fibula.

Dundee manager James McPake:

All round it was a very controlled performance. It's the goals we know Kane Hemmings provides, and even when he's not scoring he still brings a lot to our team. The signs are there but we need to continue.

Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall:

Not good. It was a poor result and an even poorer performance. I take full responsibility. I picked the team and I think I probably got it wrong for the type of day it was. The boos that rang out at the end were thoroughly justified. We're in an absolute dogfight now.
