The Little Report Fox, O'Donnell, Taylor-Sinclair, Murray, Muirhead, Balatoni, Welsh, Bannigan, Craig, Lawless, Erskine. (Forbes, Doolan.) Thistle struggled to find any width on the narrow pitch and fell behind in 4 minutes when Fox had no chance to save a volley from a cross. After Lawless, Muirhead and Erskine had all gone close, Lawless poked the ball home after his first shot had come back off the keeper (23). A fresh-air clearance by Fox almost let Cowdenbeath in as they continued to threaten but the ball trickled wide. The fog thickened at h-t making it almost impossible to follow the play. Having consulted the managers about the visibility, play continued and Thistle fell behind (64). 6 mins later the ref abandoned the game but, in truth, the fog was no worse than had been the case at the start of the 2nd half. The locals were audibly disgusted and Thistle were let off the hook.
