Thistle had already survived a disallowed goal and a few close shaves before Hamilton took the lead on the half-hour. Roberts hit the post just on half-time. Poor defending led to a 2nd goal (52). 10 minutes later Roberts pulled one back from a knock-down but the fight-back petered out. A fair result because Thistle were 2nd best.

Hamilton edged out Partick with a narrow victory in an entertaining game at New Douglas Park. The home side took the lead in the 30th minute when Mark Gilhaney turned in a flick from Paul McLeod. Accies added a second goal seven minutes into the second-half when Richard Offiong collected James McCarthy's pass and fired home. Thistle pulled one back in the 63rd minute through Mark Roberts, but Hamilton held on to claim the points.
