St Johnstone went back to the top with this deserved win. They dominated the first half and scored from the edge of the box (14) and later hit the post. Thistle were unlucky not to convert at least one of their chances in an improved second half performance but Saints tied things up on the break (73).

St Johnstone returned to the top of the table with a victory over Partick Thistle that allowed them to leapfrog the visitors from Glasgow. Paul Sheerin fired home from the edge of the box after 15 minutes. Saints goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell denied Mark Roberts and Derek Young, while Sheerin was thwarted a second goal by Kenny Arthur's fine save. But Peter McDonald blasted home from a Martin Hardie pass before Saints survived late Thistle pressure.
